In mid-2018, an artesian well was discovered in the small village of Jordani in Blantyre District that had been flowing, non-stop, since 2007. Until early 2019, with support from the Scottish Government’s Climate Justice Innovation Fund, the University of Strathclyde, in partnership with BASEflow, capped and controlled the well, thereby saving water and protecting the aquifer. But what happened next? This video, the second in a series, is a snapshot of the transformation that Jordani is experiencing because of one artesian well.
